Passing of FIPLV Président d'honneur Josef Hendrich

Dear Colleagues

It is my sad task to inform you of the passing of FIPLV Président d'honneur Josef Hendrich on 9 April.

He contributed much to the Federation, both as an officer and in providing guidance to those of us who followed him. He was also the author of the first fifty years of the FIPLV History, published initially as a single volume in 1982 before my translating it into English for inclusion in the FIPLV History produced in 2009.

Although 91, Josef continued to be active in the operations of language teacher associations at the national and international levels.

He will be sorely missed as a colleague, mentor and friend.
