Information for the authors

Formal guidelines:

In the journal Neofilolog, published by the Polish Association of Modern Languages (PTN), there are texts related to the themes of PTN’s annual conferences. In addition, thematic volumes devoted to linguistics, language acquisition, applied linguistics and translation studies are proposed according to the publishing plan, about which potential contributors and readers are informed in advance on the PTN website. The main aim of the journal is the dissemination of knowledge about modern language learning and teaching, including Polish as a foreign language. This covers both theoretical and applied approaches to the social and cultural dimension of these processes and issues relating to research methodology.

Articles can be submitted in Polish, German, English and French. All submissions are externally reviewed in accordance with the guidelines of the Ministry of Science and Higher Education for the publication of scientific articles. This involves first selection of texts by the Scientific Board of the journal and, if an article is accepted, two anonymous external reviews. To be accepted, a text has to comply with the journal’s requirements (choice of topic, way of conducting the argument and presentation of empirical data). Requirements are both technical (appropriate organization of the text) and formal (delivery of the electronic version of the text with the appropriate data). An author who submits a proposal of an article to the journal Neofilolog declares that his or her submission has not yet been published and has not been submitted for publication elsewhere (a written declaration is required, if an article receives positive reviews and is accepted for publication (→see declaration form).

Articles submitted should be written in formal academic language, according to which all quoted content and examples are appropriately referenced and the source of origin rigorously documented. Each opinion taken from other writer should be summed up, discussed or interpreted with a measure of detachment. If the aim of an article is the presentation of the results of a contributor’s own study, apart from results and conclusions, the article should also include explanation of the research methodology, the research paradigm, the research focus, the scope and aims of the study, theses and hypotheses, methods, techniques and research instruments, as well as a description of the research context and the sample.

The Editors declare that all cases of scientific dishonesty (plagiarism, self-plagiarism, failing to reveal the contribution of co-authors) will be revealed to the appropriate authorities, (information to the author’s employers, scientific associations, associations of scientific editors, etc.).

Please send submissions to the e-mail address of the volume editor, which is placed on the PTN website, under the heading Neofilolog/Plan wydawniczy.
