Future of Languages

June 11-12, 2020

The conference Future of Languages will take place in Reykjavík, Iceland, in 2020. The venue is at the University of Iceland, “Veröld – the home of Vigdís” building, named after Iceland´s former president, Madame Vigdís Finnbogadóttir, the first and only UNESCO Ambassador of Languages. The program will be partly theoretical and partly practical as we join forces to learn from each other’s experiences and practices, while simultaneously gaining knowledge about future perspectives and challenges. Panels will be organized in different languages, even if English will be the main language of communication.

The daily program will open and close with a plenary lecture, while numerous parallel sessions will operate simultaneously within the same building. Suggestions for outstanding speakers are still welcomed (send to holmfr@hi.is). Please see attachment file (download) for more details.

Topics in applied linguistics: Classroom-oriented research

Opole, September 23th-25th, 2019

The conference represents an attempt to bring together two successful, cyclical events that have taken place over the years, that is, conferences on topics in applied linguistics, organized by the University of Opole, and conferences on classroom-oriented research, undertaken by the State University of Applied Sciences, Konin, in cooperation with the Faculty of Pedagogy and Fine Arts of Adam Mickiewicz University, Kalisz. The conference will be devoted to various aspects of research conducted in foreign and second language classrooms, offering an important forum for disseminating latest research findings in this area, which is critical language pedagogy. W obliczu heterogeniczności w nauczaniu dzieci

Po udanej konferencji zorganizowanej w 2016 roku, mamy ogromną przyjemność zaprosić Państwa do udziału w drugiej edycji. Tym razem zakres konferencji zostanie poszerzony i obejmie nauczanie dzieci wszystkich języków, zarówno obcych, jak i drugich oraz kolejnych. Przyswajanie języków obcych/drugich w dzieciństwie staje się zjawiskiem powszechnym. Może to być wynikiem zaleceń polityki językowej, dążeniem do awansu społecznego czy też procesów migracyjnych.

Pomimo wczesnego startu, nie wszystkie dzieci opanowują drugi język w tym samym stopniu. Różne konteksty uczenia się mogą prowadzić do zróżnicowanych osiągnięć w nauce oraz ścieżek dydaktycznych. W związku z tym, podczas konferencji chcielibyśmy bliżej przyjrzeć się czynnikom wpływającym na zróżnicowanie poziomu osiągnięć językowych młodszych uczniów. Rozmaite doświadczenia językowe oraz zdolności dzieci w jednej klasie mogą również stanowić wyzwanie dla nauczycieli, którzy muszą poradzić sobie z problemem heterogeniczności.

Konferencja jest skierowana do wszystkich zainteresowanych nauczaniem i przyswajaniem języka obcego oraz drugiego dzieci w wieku przedszkolnym i na etapie szkoły podstawowej (do około lat 14) - zarówno teoretyków, jak i praktyków, językoznawców, pedagogów i nauczycieli. Przewidujemy zarówno referaty teoretyczne, prezentujące badania, jak i rozwiązania praktyczne w zakresie dydaktyki w formie warsztatów.

International Language Teacher Education Conference

ILTERG (INTERNATIONAL LANGUAGE TEACHER EDUCATION RESEARCH GROUP) Gazi University, with the faculty support from Boğaziçi University, Pomeranian University and Evora University, are pleased to announce the

International Language Teacher Education Conference (ILTERG Conference hereafter)

to be held from 08-10 April, 2019 in Antalya, TURKEY.

ILTERG Conference aims to bring together language teacher educators from all over the world who work in many different contexts to maximize opportunities for exchange and networking.

One of the main priorities of ILTERG Conference is to bring together research, theory, and best practices from all contexts of language teacher education. The conference also aims to contribute to English language teaching.

To this end, the conference program has been organized around two key themes: Language Teacher Education and English Language Teaching.

The ILTERG Conference will be funded by ILTERG Project (funded by the Turkish National Agency and Erasmus +) and therefore no conference fee will be taken for the first 50 international participants and first 150 participants from Turkey.

The ILTERG Conference covers the new criteria for YÖK Academic Incentive Regulation. The Conference will provide attendance of researchers from several EU countries, Portugal, Poland, Italy, Germany, Slovenia, Greece and non-EU countries such as Iran, Ukraine, Azarbaijan and more.
